RECIPE – Ferran Adria’s Sangria
So I got another cookbook not too long ago – Ferran Adria’s The Family Meal (of El Bulli fame).
Awesome book and very realistic – as in, recipes you can cook throughout the week. Why not try the Sangria? Wine + fruit = healthy, right?
This doesn’t even involve any cooking, so simple and easy to make.
Ingredients:
- 12 tbsp Orange juice
- 2 cup Red wine
- 3 tbsp Sugar
- 3 tbsp Orange liqueur
- 2 pinches ground cinnamon
- 1 Lemon zest, finely grated
- 1 Pink grapefruit
- 1 Oranges
- 1 Apples
- 1 Pears
- 1 Peaches
- Or other fruit to your preference
- Fresh mint to garnish
Method:
- Strain the orange juice
- Mix together orange juice, red wine, sugar, orange liqueur, cinnamon & lemon zest
- Peel the citrus & remove the flesh from each segment
- Peel & core the other fruits as necessary & cut into wedges
- Add everything into sangria & leave to marinate for at least 1 hour
- Serve with garnishes of mint
